After 19 years of being actively engaged in the real estate business, I pulled the plug. Actually, I sort of loosened it in the socket about 5 years ago when I decided to take up the fine art of school bus driving. Friday, July 3rd I put my real estate license into the Keller Williams referral program, aptly named the KW Referral Company where it will stay for awhile. At least until I'm too decrepit to attend the bi-annual continuing education classes required to keep it going. I have revamped my main website so that now it has become a venue for recommending other agents to you buyers and sellers of real estate out there. Also known as a referral service for which I can still receive a referral fee from the other agents that I refer to you. You can still search for property on my website though. However, please know that I will no longer be involved in actually showing property or listing any property. I'll leave that up to the younger generation.

What with the current abysmal market and the associated recession the country is currently enduring, I felt the time was right to make the move. I will not disappear from the scene entirely however. I will still continue doing the monthly charts and graphs for the Keller Williams McMurray, Washington and Bethel Park offices as I have been doing for the past several years. I'll continue to post that information right here on this blog to keep you all informed of the latest real estate trends in the Washington and S. Allegheny County areas. And I'll probably be expanding my topics and comments to other than just real estate related stuff. I already do some restaurant reviewing. And I will still be doing video tours for other agents who request them and I will still be designing websites for other agents and providing maintenance services for them. So with all that stuff and the school bus and charter bus driving, I'm still going to be a busy boy.

To those who are currently using my "Easy Home Search" program on my web site, it is now or shortly will be no longer active as I have canceled my multi list subscription. You can contact me for information on how to continue this type of service with another good agent, although unfortunately, very few agents have even bothered to take the time to set up such a program in the multi list as I did. Technologically speaking, most other agents are rather lax when it comes to providing stuff like that. Most of them have the old "deer in headlights" look when you start talking about computers, except of course for the young ones.

So that's it for now. Now I have to go update my Twitter page, Facebook page, LinkIn page and Spacebook page. OMG, Isn't the Internet fabulous? I'm so glad Al Gore invented it.

Jon
CurbChat.com
